Great waitress, good menu

Stopped in on Labor Day weekend, was very busy...Staff was friendly and attentive, the management was present and seemingly stopped at every table to make sure things were going smoothly which was very refreshing to see. I had the prime rib and my wife had the garlic salmon, both dishes were excellent. The drink menu is fresh and fun and our server Zack was great. Overall the best dining experience we’ve had in the last 19 days of travel across the country and the atmosphere is everything you would hope for in the Northwoods. Thank you Maplewood Steakhouse, keep up the great work.

We just experienced the cuisine at the Maplewood Steakhouse in Ironwood Wisconsin and were extremely pleased with our meals. We have travelled extensively in the Southern USA and their Brisket Sando would rival any Brisket we have had in Southern Texas. The Craft Beers were very good I would recommend trying them. Being originally from Montreal, Quebec we had to try the Onion Soup which also was lovely. We were treated to a great Apple Pie Cheesecake for dessert that topped off the meal perfectly. We could not have asked for a better meal, thoroughly enjoyed everything.

The fries are like McDonald's, thin, cold, and flavorless. The corned beef in the Ruben was thickly cut, tough, and nearly impossible to bite through. Neither beverage nor water refills showed up. This is supposedly one of the nicer places in town, but I had better food and service at the nearby tavern and diner.

Food was excellent as well as the cocktails and beer. Staff was superb... This restaurant is a must-stop for dinner every time we come to Ironwood.

Food was great!! Portion was very good. Took plenty of leftovers home. Pricey but worth it. Servive was fast and pleasant.

Really friendly staff. Warm cabin atmosphere. A diverse menu with more than a few vegetarian options included. An overall great place to dine.

Bar type restaurant, friendly and attentive. Stopped in because we were staying near by. Pizza was good, lots of sauce and cheese.

Went here tonight with hopes of a good meal. Our receptionist at the front desk recommended this establishment. Our waitress took our order of two specials ,prime rib and sirloin. Kids ordered Alfredo and buffalo Mac n cheese. People who came in after us all were served before we received Our soup and salad . Then three entree’s were done and not the prime . We asked our waitress to please bring the 3 so the food doesn’t get cold. 6 min later the prime showed up. My wife’s sirloin was supposed to be wrapped in bacon , it wasn’t and potatoes Luke warm. Lots of room needed for improvement, potentially a good place

If I could give a 0 I would. It took 20 min just to serve me a water. One sandwich in our group was ice cold and watery mac and cheese. My wings were blah at best plus the 2 dollar up charge for having dry rub and a side of buffalo. They finally got the hint when I put my timer so they could see it. Told the waitress that I pay for good service and I would not be leaving a tip and she didnt seem to care well I do tip min 20 percent up to 100 percent but she got 0

Thank you for honoring us veterans with a free meal on Veterans Day! The food was great, as always, and Christina our server was a delight! Very knowledgeable, very personable and great to talk with. Give her a raise and hang on to her!

Went in and ordered the 12oz NY steak. It got to the table and looked good. Didn’t really enjoy the baked potato. I figured it would be more than just a potato that was baked. Maybe they should have loaded it up. I take my first bite of steak and immediately taste a funny flavor. Reminded me of frozen steak cooked quickly. It was not seasoned at all. I even had to salt it and throw some A1 on it. :( I was really disappointed in the quality of the meat and the flavor. If I could go back I would not order any steak. On a brighter note, my girlfriends burger was amazing. Definitely going back for burgers but that’s it. Service was fine as waitress was in training. Could have used a refill but oh well. I give it 2 stars because steak was not good.

Took forever to get drinks and the food was mediocre..My boyfriend got a patty melt with a side of cheese curds and they charged $8 just for the cheese curds! The patty melt was all bun and a thin patty :/ I had the fettuccini and I liked mine! I did like the options they had on the menu.

I ordered Steak the first time I went it was horrible couldn’t really cut it... I didn’t complain...... I tried this place again for some simple wings, they were worst than the steak.... however I did enjoy the celery...... I will never go into this place again or even mention the the name of this place.....disgusting ..... I had to give it 1 star to leave a review and I Resent that.

Great selection of tap beer, that bear paw New York strip steak is something I’ll dream of!

I was belittled by the owner jon for ordering dairy free food and asking for a refund wasn't my goal, people are hurt often by the ignorance of others and this is a classic case he decided to laugh at me and hang up after laughing. Terry was civil and the only valued part of my experience, this establishment is not a family establishment, it only cares when it wants to, as proven by the owner. Things got bad enough that I needed to involve the police to get my food refunded, that I couldnt eat, because he threatened to tresspass me... over getting a refund.If you expect to be heard and cared for, this is not the place for your family.

We were the ONLY customers in there on a Friday afternoon and it took the waitress 15 min to make 4 cocktails and then 20 min for an appetizer platter that definitely did not accommodate the 4 of us. Our waitress was looking in every other direction than our faces while we ordered. We were so disappointed with everything we decided to not order lunch and went elsewhere. I do not recommend this establishment.

Food was very good, had the 8 oz. Steak special. Was prepared to order, medium well. Waitress was attentive and courteous.

Excellent service and good quality food. The server guy had a great sense of humor did a great job extremely helpful in helping us pick out things and explaining menu and any changes. We enjoyed the experience and felt very comfortable with the precautions being taken during this unique time. We will definitely be returning. We were there on July 22 2020 about 9pm.

We ate here during co-vid. The entire establishment was extremely clean. The managers, kitchen staff and waIt staff were very professional, accommodating, super friendly and made sure very course of our meal was to our liking. They all made the rounds to the different tables to make your dining experience feel personal. Food was delicious and reasonably priced.

Treated fantastically. The shake of the day brought me to a pleasant state of diabetic shock. OMG....the greatest ever. Bravo to everyone there. Good work.

Reading some of these reviews and comparing my experience to theirs, I feel as though they've improved a bit. It did take a while for the cocktails, but when they came, very delicious and attractive. Food was very good. Portion sizes decent. French onion soup good, a little salty. Garlic bread yummy and soft. Try the strawberry mojito!

The sirloin is to die for, the fries are straight from potato heaven, so crispy

The food was pretty good. The dessert menu was fabulous. Watching the turtles swim in the fish tank made the experience enjoyable.

Had dinner tonight in this restaurant. Food was good. However, the girl at the bar seem doesn’t like me. Wait 30 minutes for my food and another 30 minutes for my cutlery. Actually, she never gave me the cutlery. It’s another guy gave it to me 30 minutes later.

Food was wonderful. Service was a little slow. But I’ll be back

Was driving through town on our way to Wisconsin and we stopped for lunch, best decision. Ordered pizza & wings for the family. Some of the best wings I've had in Michigan, most try the honey bourbon naked wings! Prices are reasonable, service was great and a great bloody Mary list that the wife loved. Will go back again.

Horrible experience, cold mashed potatoes, row bacon on steake, watery/stasteless "grilled" shrimp with only black peeper on it. Big city prices for low quality food.

Terrible! Ive never walked out of a resturant before until now. Philly steak was described as being made with roast beef and what i got was frozen steak ums,cold fries, and soggy bread. Never been more disgusted in my life. Boyfriend got the applewood dip described to be made with roast beef and got frozen steak um patties and cold fries. Not to mention we waited over an hour for this nastiness. I thought a steak house was geared at steak. I seen no steak on their menu

A steak em Steakhouse? Waitress would get lose in some abyss in the kitchen, took about an hour to recive food ordered now in fairness the waitress did say the manager was in the kitchen... So perhaps there lies the issue? I won't be back anytime soon.

Atmosphere and energy was pleasant and cozy, but the staff barely ever came to our table. I think our waitress (who was friendly, but still distant) was a first timer, so I won't fault her too much. Guy came and asked us our drinks and then never got them. Ordered medium rare steak and it came out completely raw. Kind of disappointed with my experience there.

Horrible, horrible...cold food,overdone, 3 people did not get their meals until we asked for them. Kitchen needs a rescue...Gordon Ramsey needs to get after this place...salad and dinner came together. No biggie,but old wilted salad. Stale croutons... limp cucumbers...dirty dishes.... Going to Yelp next ..

My medium steak was previously frozen & came out well done. Service was good but that is all I can say.

Came in and there were 2 other tables besides ours. Waited 15 min for menus and a drink order to be taken. Another 15 for a mellow yellow. Another 5 after that for our order to be taken. By this time it Is us and one other table in the whole restaurant. We have now been sitting here for 45 min since we walked in. Grrr. I wouldnt have came here if my daughter didnt want to come

The shrimp here was great. My wife said her steak was alright. I would come back and give it another try! 4 stars but I'd say it's worth trying. Service was good!

Nice waiter, very caring. Food was ok, soup was cold. Lots of customers in the restaurant, so it is obviously popular.

In a small town like Ironwood, you never know what you will find. This is a nice restaurant with a fun vibe!

Awesome! We ate here twice while in Ironwood snowmobiling and great experiences both times! Food and drinks were delicious and the wait staff was kind and helpful. Highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for non-bar food!

My buddy ordered $30 worth of tacos, specifically with no cheese, dairy, or animal products(meat etc). We picked it up and there was sour cream/ranch on every taco (dairy in ranch). He called to have the order replaced and the owner laughed at him for being vegan and hung up. We went to get our refund and the owner hid in the back while he had 2 young girls deal with it. We were respectful and just wanted a refund, it was just a very unprofessional way to handle the situation on the part of the owner.Terry was awesome though. He handled it with patience and respect.

Really good food went with family, service was really good, employees were nice ,overall best experience with family and friends.
